Artistic Statement

As an Asian-American artist, my passion is inspired by my personal experiences living culturally unique from the movers around me. Most often, I am curious about how my way of life affects surrounding societies, and my creative endeavors often stem from this peculiarity. As well, I find motivation from the dancers in front of me, as it is the relationship between myself and the performers that greatly challenge my imaginative process. I describe my movement quality and personal flow as fluid, expansive, vibrant, technical, and powerful, all of which I strive to integrate into my creative routine. With my curiosities, inspirations, and admirable dance traits, I mission to present and perform dance in ways that will unite the outer world together. While continuing my artistic journey, I can only hope to further harmonize the public and seek ongoing change by using movement to its fullest potential.
